Q: How many photographs do you normally take at a wedding?

A: I do not have a limit on the photos I take, which allows more freedom for creativity. I take as many as necessary to cover your entire day for the time allowed.

Q: Do you book more than one wedding on the same day?

A: No. Once a date is booked, you have me for that day. I only book one wedding at a time so I can devote as much time as necessary to both of you and your photos.

Q: How much time should we allow for our formal photographs? Should we do them after the wedding ceremony?

A: Try to allow as much time as possible for the photographs. You can schedule the formal photographs between the ceremony and reception. If there is not enough time to do the photos then, we can schedule a time before the wedding ceremony for the bride and groom photos (intimate shots), and then between the ceremony and reception we can do all the formal shots with family and the wedding party. The more time you can allow, the better.

Q: How many locations can we go to during our photography session if our wedding location isn’t very photogenic?

A: We can go to any location in the Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview, and Shediac areas as time allows for the package you chose. For instance, if you have booked the basic package, then we have up to 3 hours for photographs.

Q: Our wedding is being held outside of your areas mentioned. Would you still be able to photograph our wedding and would it cost more?

A: Yes, I travel throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI. Traveling cost would be above the wedding package price. Traveling expenses are estimated per km. Contact me for details.

Q: Do you require a deposit in order to reserve our wedding date?

A: Yes. A non-refundable reservation fee (depending on the package chosen) is required at the time of booking which will be subtracted from the total package. Half of the balance is due at least one month before wedding date and the remaining amount is due within 2 months after the wedding.

Q: How long does it take for us to receive the photos?

A: After you choose what you want in your album, most times it takes anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks depending on how large your wedding is, how many photos were taken, and if it is in the busy season. Usually I will have your online proofs ready for you to view and choose the ones you want within 3 weeks of the wedding day. I will email or phone you with your password to view your online proofs in a private gallery.

Q: How much notice do you require in order to reserve the date we want?

A: That depends on the time of year. Usually 6 months to a year in advance would be normal. More time may be required if it’s in peak season (summer and autumn). However if you are in a rush, I may be available to photograph your wedding in as little as one month notice if I do not have another booking on that date. Contact me as soon as possible to work out the details.

Q: Do you shoot colour or black & white? Can we have our choice?

A: I shoot in colour. However, any photograph/s taken at your wedding can be transformed into black & white, sepia, old school vintage, and/or selective colour treatment, later for your prints.

Q: What if your equipment fails during our wedding?

A: I always carry a backup camera and lenses to all weddings just in case. It has never happened, but I come prepared 🙂

Q: Where should we take the photos?

A: As a parent you know that the “real” personality of children come out in environments that they are comfortable in, allowing them to be themselves. My on location portrait photography takes place at a place of your choice, either in your home or a familiar environment such as a park, etc. That way the ‘true’ expressions will come shining through in the images.

Q: What should we wear?

A: What I suggest is wear something that is comfortable. Solid colours usually work the best, however your clothes should reflect you. Try to stay away from logos on shirts, as they tend to distract from the photo. Bold colours are always welcome as they can make interesting images 🙂 We can also have wardrobe changes as time permits, so you can have different looks in the photo session.

Q: What kind of portrait photos do you take?

A: I photography everything from:
Newborn & Babies
Family Portraits
Senior / School Photos
Storyboards / Collages

Q: I have a small child and getting them to smile is almost impossible. What happens then?

A: I don’t tell children to “smile” as this usually ends up in a ‘fake’ one which doesn’t tend to be an attractive image. I let them be themselves and interact with other family members or toys. This will bring out the ‘true’ emotions and ‘smiles’ 🙂

Q: How long does a portrait session take?

A: I like to allow a minimum of an hour to two hours. In the instance of a newborn or baby session, it will usually take the full two hours or more as we will need breaks in-between times for feeding and changing.

Q: Do you provide albums with our photos?

A: Yes. You can choose whether you want an album or an artbook for your prints. See the pricing page for details on cost.

Q: How many photos do you take during a session?

A: I don’t have a set number of images. It all depends on the day 🙂 I have been known to take anywhere from 30 to 200 images during our time together. These will be edited down to the best ones (eyes open, etc).

Q: Do we get to choose what we want for our CD / prints or do you?

A: Once all the images are edited, I will have an online gallery with the photos for you to choose what you want. It is your choice what goes on your CD or into prints 🙂

Q: How do we book you for our session?

A: Just contact me through the contact menu and tell me when you want your photos taken. I will respond to you within 24 hours. If you don’t receive a response within that time, check your spam filter.
